Job summary This post will not commence until May 2025 An exciting job opportunity has arisen within the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust's Library and Knowledge Services team. We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual to join our team to work as a Clinical Librarian. The Library and Knowledge Services team delivers library services and resources to all staff working at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, and Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We aim to support and enhance clinical practice and patient care, personal and professional development, education and training, organisational and service development and research. Main duties of the job This role will lead on proactively supporting and engaging with clinical staff working either in a clinical setting on a hospital site, or remotely, to promote the value of embedding evidence-based practice into supporting effective clinical governance, informed decision-making and safe patient care. Acting as a key point of contact you will facilitate and promote clinical outreach activities and a programme of resource discovery demonstrations and information skills training sessions to raise the visibility of library services or resources, and to help increase user engagement and usage. You must be able to work flexibly, both independently and as a team player, proposing and implementing projects or ideas that contribute to the development, promotion and delivery of a user focused, high quality NHS Library and Knowledge Service. This role can be delivered flexibly with a mix of home-based remote working and on site working. The post holder will be required to work cross-site at the main hospital sites (Lincoln County Hospital Grantham and District Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital) and other Trust locations, as well as their primary base. Travel between hospital sites and community sites in Lincolnshire will also be required. There is also an expectation that some outreach and promotional activities may take place in a clinical or workplace setting, outside of the library. About us Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive environment where your contributions are valued. We are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, and a team culture of trust, clarity and respect. United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust was granted teaching hospital status in September 2024, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH) have also come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county. This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations. The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
