We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of early childhood education. This role requires excellent communication abilities in English, as you will be responsible for managing staff, engaging with parents, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. Purpose of position: To take charge of the Nursery & work alongside the assistant managers to ensure the Nursery meets the requirements of the EYFS, providing safe, high-quality education and care for young children, and increasing our intake of children.
Essential Requirements:
* Well presented, friendly, flexible & in good health with a good sense of humour.
* Ability to communicate at all levels and show excellent leadership & decision making.
* Ability to move the nursery forward & continue to build on its established reputation as a leading provider in nursery care.
* Suitable relevant qualification in childcare at level 3 or above.
* Previous experience of nursery management and working with young children.
* The ability to act as a key worker to a group of children if needed.
* A very good knowledge and understanding of Ofsted standards.
* A very good understanding of the E.Y.F.S. and the ability to deliver the E.Y.F.S.
* The ability to produce and keep records.
* Commitment to equal opportunities & understanding of religious & cultural diversity.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Food hygiene certificate.
* Relevant 1st aid certificate.
* ENCO.
* H&S qualified.
* Knowledge of Tapestry.
* Knowledge of ‘In The Moment Planning’.
Main Duties:
* Ensure daily, weekly, monthly & yearly planning sheets are completed and coordinate the planning for a wide range of personalized activities covering all areas of the curriculum & satisfying Ofsted requirements.
* Ensure staffing rotas are made up in advance and cover the requirements of Ofsted.
* Compile & issue monthly invoices on time.
* Monitor and allocate holiday.
* Ensure monthly time sheets are completed accurately and ready on time.
* Oversee the completion of the children's Tapestry records.
* Keep all policy and procedures updated with any new guidelines issued.
* Take charge of all H&S issues and take appropriate action where any risk is identified & notify the proprietor of any such actions needed or taken.
* Help implement the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning programme.
* Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support & stimulation using the E.Y.F.S.
* Liaise with parents/carers of your key worker group.
* Attend staff meetings, personnel training courses, management & cluster meetings as required.
* Maintain complete confidentiality regarding any information concerning the children, their families, or other members of staff.
* Conduct staff supervisions, support & encourage staff, and if necessary, follow staff disciplinary procedures.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £7,800.00-£15,600.00 per year
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
