We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of early childhood education. This role requires excellent communication abilities in English, as you will be responsible for managing staff, engaging with parents, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. Purpose of position: To take charge of the Nursery & work alongside the assistant managers to ensure the Nursery meets the requirements of the EYFS. To provide safe, high-quality education and care for young children and to increase our intake of children.
At the present time: We are ideally looking for a Part-Time Manager; this is open to discussion with various options available.
Essential Requirements:
1. Well presented, friendly, flexible & in good health with a good sense of humour.
2. Ability to communicate at all levels and show excellent leadership & decision-making skills.
3. Ability to move the nursery forward & continue to build on its established reputation as one of the leading providers in nursery care.
4. Suitable relevant qualification in childcare at level 3 or above.
5. Previous experience of nursery management and working with young children.
6. The ability to act as a key worker to a group of children if needed.
7. A very good knowledge and understanding of Ofsted standards.
8. A very good understanding of the E.Y.F.S. and the ability to deliver the E.Y.F.S.
9. The ability to produce and keep records.
10. Commitment to equal opportunities & understanding of religious & cultural diversity.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Food hygiene certificate.
2. Relevant 1st aid certificate.
3. ENCO.
4. H&S qualified.
5. Knowledge of Tapestry.
6. Knowledge of ‘In The Moment Planning’.
Main Duties:
1. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly & yearly planning sheets are completed and coordinate the planning so a wide range of personalised activities and opportunities are delivered to cover all areas of the curriculum & satisfy Ofsted requirements.
2. Ensure staffing rotas are made up in advance and cover the requirements of Ofsted.
3. Ensure monthly invoices are compiled & issued on time.
4. Monitor and allocate holiday.
5. Ensure monthly time sheets are completed, accurate and ready on time.
6. Oversee the completion of the children's Tapestry records.
7. Keep all policy and procedures updated with any new guidelines issued.
8. Take charge of all H&S issues and take appropriate action where any risk is identified & notify the proprietor of any such actions needed or taken.
9. Help implement the daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning programme.
10. Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support & stimulation using the E.Y.F.S.
11. Liaise with parents/carers of your key worker group.
