An exciting, new opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Radiographer to the post of Department Manager for the x-ray Department at Fairfield General Hospital.
You will be expected to manage all day to day operational aspects of service delivery of plain film Radiography in the main department and provision of mobile and theatre Radiography. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of HR, mandatory training and to support in the investigation of complaints and incidents.

In exchange, you will be supported by the directorate team and provided with access to training for higher management courses. You will be mentored by the senior management team to develop your leadership skills which will pave the way for your progression.
You will:
• be responsible for the day to day management of the General Radiology department for the base site.
• work alongside the radiography team and independently, provides an efficient and high quality imaging service, whilst dealing with patients in a caring professional manner.
• lead a range of senior radiographers, radiographers, students and assistant staff in both the delivery of the general service and their individual development needs.
• lead and contribute effectively to the delivery of an efficient and responsive General radiology service, by managing the workflow and waiting times within the department including responsibility for meeting internal and wider hospital targets (e.g. 4 hour A&E waiting time).
• assist in the initial investigation of all informal and formal complaints for their host site, seeking the support of the Deputy Directorate Manager when required. You shall assume the lead role for governance issues for their site and instigate the reporting and investigation of untoward incidents, reporting the findings to the Directorate management team.
