You will be working within the thrive model “getting more help” by providing direct interventions to children and young people with moderate – severe mental health difficulties. You will support both professionals and young people in accessing relevant internal and external services to promote self help where this is deemed to be appropriate.
As a CAMHS practitioner, you will have an active role in providing assessments and interventions to children and young people with a moderate – severe/enduring mental health need working within the remit of relevant guidelines for example NICE guidelines. you will be involved in carrying out assessments (including risk management) and actively be involved in holding a caseload in which you will have the opportunity to deliver person centred effective treatment and interventions, with the aim of helping children and young people develop skills and strategies to enable them to thrive.
You work directly with children and young people with mental health needs but also their carers/families and additional support networks including schools, social care, voluntary and partnership agencies to ensure a holistic approach to facilitate positive outcomes of care in relation to young people’s mental health needs.
