Due to increased workload, we are currently looking for a site engineer to work on interesting civil engineering schemes in the Dover and Folkestone area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Setting out using total stations, GPS equipment, and to be able to undertake traditional setting out using profiles, batter rail and pegs.
2. Read and review construction drawings.
3. Undertake basic take-offs.
4. Raising technical queries with designers and other members of the client team.
5. Have a good commercial understanding and know the difference between cost and value.
6. Carry out relevant inspections and testing to ensure conformance of the works with the design and specification.
7. Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures.
Skills Required
We are seeking a proactive problem solver and confident communicator, who has the ability to liaise effectively with a range of other professionals. The ideal candidate will have previous civil engineering experience, particularly highways schemes working for a main contractor. Must also have a CSCS card in the appropriate discipline and have a BSc/HND/HNC qualification or equivalent. You will have a SSTS card as well as ICE membership. Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving license is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Northern Region. A First Aid at Work qualification would also be desirable.
