We are seeking a Fire Alarm Engineer to join our team. GRAHAM FM will provide services related to both planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance of facilities in relation to mechanical and electrical assets, building fabric, roofing, roller shutter doors, fire alarm systems and domestic gas boilers.

* Location: University of Leeds
* Hours Per Week: Monday - Friday 40 Hours
* Job Type: Permanent / Full Time
The Fire Alarm Engineer will:
* Work as part of the Maintenance Team with responsibility for maintaining Mechanical and Electrical Plant.
* Work as part of the Graham FM Mobile Engineering Team with responsibility for the completion of weekly fire alarm system testing across the contract estate.
* Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile Clients and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas of your performance.
* Provide detailed write-ups of the weekly testing and highlight any faults to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
* Carry out all fire alarm tests within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
* Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
* Use your own initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
* Liaise closely with the PPM Manager and our control hub to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
* Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works on various building systems.
* Provide exceptional maintenance services to our high profile client and go the extra mile to deliver to the highest quality standards in all areas.
* Utilise PDAs / mobiles to complete works.
* Deal with a variety of Clients on a daily basis. You will represent the Company and be courteous and professional in your dealings with them at all times.
* Provide regular out of hours cover and participate in a staggered shift pattern to cover the client’s core hours.
About You
Essential Criteria:
1. The Applicant needs to be experienced in Fire Alarm maintenance.
2. Previous experience in Gent Systems.
3. An electrical or fire systems qualification.
4. Emergency lighting competency in testing and repairs.
5. Demonstrate previous experience in a similar maintenance role/have a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance for general buildings systems.
6. Demonstrate a sound general knowledge of multiple building and mechanical services.
7. Full Driver’s License.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience in planned and preventative maintenance particularly in relation to electrical services in a university environment.
2. Electrical qualifications - C&G 2391.
3. Recognised Health & Safety training.
4. IT Skills – in the use of PDA’s.
5. Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
6. Knowledge of HVAC building management systems.
7. Manual Handling training.
8. Confined space training.
