Testing and Certification Manager role:
The Certification will oversee the certification process and ensure compliance for passive fire protection products. This position entails conducting thorough technical assessments, developing test programs, reviewing technical documentation, and staying up to date with the latest fire safety standards.
Testing and Certification Manager responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed engineering reports for passive fire protection products, analysing both fire-related and non-fire data to offer thorough advice and effective solutions.
* Organise and manage fire resistance testing programs in collaboration with clients and testing departments.
* Support the installation of product testing on both internal and external test rigs.
* Collaborate closely with various third-party testing and assessment teams, including Kiwa/IFC, Warrington Fire/Exova, BRE, UKTC, and others.
* Prepare and review technical documentation to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and assist with CAD drawings for product installations.
* Offer expertise on new product ranges, including establishing the minimum testing requirements needed for compliance.
* Enhance and maintain up-to-date knowledge of national and international fire safety standards.
* Provide support during audits and contribute to internal knowledge development.
* Work closely with technical, sales, and R&D teams to improve product offerings and meet market demands.
* Provide technical advice on all existing and new fire-resistant products and solutions offered by the company to architects, installers, authorities, contractors, clients, and fire departments on major projects. This includes offering in-depth solutions during various stages of design development and construction.
* Lead the representation of the company in standards committees, trade associations, and public platforms.
Testing and Certification Manager requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or related field, or extensive experience in fire safety management.
* In-depth knowledge of national, European, and international fire safety standards.
* Referred experience in product testing, certification, or a related technical field.
Skills:
* Ability to interpret technical and CAD drawings.
* Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills to articulate technical information effectively.
* Independent with a proactive approach to workload management.
Desirable Experience:
* Previous experience in the passive fire protection industry, including handling fire-resistant products and system installations.
* Experience in building materials, construction, or engineering sectors.
