We manage and operate several national laboratories on behalf of government agencies, such as the UK National Measurement Laboratory (NML), MHRA Laboratories Team and National Reference Laboratories, as well as hosting the unique function of the ‘Government Chemist’.

In regards to the location of the role, you will initially be based at the Teddington site. However, the Company is planning to permanently relocate its National Laboratories, Teddington operations to The Priestley Centre, Surrey Research Park, Guildford around Spring 2025. Job Description
Are you ready to make a real impact in quality management? We’re looking for a dedicatedQuality Practitionerto join our team at MHRA Laboratories. In this exciting role, you’ll help maintain and improve our quality management systems, ensuring compliance and driving continuous improvement across the board.
About the Role
This position is central to ensuring the MHRA Laboratories uphold the highest standards of quality. From managing quality documents to coordinating audits, the role offers a variety of responsibilities that are both challenging and exciting. Expect to lead quality improvement initiatives, analyze data to uncover opportunities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful results.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain an effective quality management system that aligns with LGC policies and legal requirements.
* Coordinate and conduct audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
* Analyze data using statistical techniques to identify and implement improvements.
* Lead investigations into root causes and establish corrective and preventative measures.
* Collaborate with the NLS Quality team to align policies and drive impactful quality projects.
* Deliver training and provide mentorship on quality processes and best practices.
* Monitor quality metrics and report on performance to identify trends and opportunities.
* Stay up-to-date with regulations to ensure compliance and innovation in quality management.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
We value expertise and passion! Ideal candidates will have:
* Postgraduate experience in analytical chemistry or a related field within an ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, or cGMP laboratory.
* Practical knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality systems.
* Strong skills in statistical process control and continuous improvement methods.
* Experience conducting audits and implementing corrective actions.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with quality management tools.
* A detail-oriented approach to problem-solving and data analysis.
* Outstanding communication skills and the ability to collaborate optimally.
* A dedication to professional development and learning.
