A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Platform Engineer (Azure) to join its dynamic technology team. The Role:
As a Platform Engineer, you will:
* Build, maintain, and support Azure-based cloud infrastructure using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components.
* Develop and manage automation tools and pipelines to enable safe and repeatable deployments.
* Provide hands-on support for high-volume, high-availability applications and platforms.
* Drive continuous improvements in performance, resilience, and cost optimisation of live services.
* Contribute to the cloud migration journey and foster agile ways of working.
* Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
* Engage with stakeholders, including delivery teams, business analysts, and risk and security teams, to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience:
* 3+ years in a hands-on platform engineering role within an Azure environment.
* Proficiency in "Infrastructure as Code" with tools like Terraform.
* Solid understanding of cloud networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Vnets, VPNs, load balancers).
* Familiarity with monitoring, alerting tools, and Azure Policy.
* Exposure to CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., GitHub, Jenkins).
* Strong scripting skills in Bash, Ruby, or Python.
* Experience in a financial services or regulated environment is advantageous but not a requirement.
Skills and Attributes:
* Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Knowledge of cloud infrastructure security and Microsoft Well-Architected Framework.
* Enthusiasm for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
