The role…
Are you a passionate technician with a keen eye for detail looking to widen your experience in a prestigious West End venue? Are you dedicated to delivering the highest quality in everything you do?
We are currently recruiting for Casual Followspot Operators at The London Palladium. You would be part of a multi-skilled team tasked with delivering an exciting and varied programme of Live Music, the World’s leading comedy talent, Prime Time television shows and our legendary Musical and Pantomime seasons.
Working as part of our technical team, you would provide support for the Technical Management in delivering the highest standard of customer experience to our resident productions and concert hirings and break new ground in our industry.
What you’ll be doing…
1. Operating followspots on a variety of shows.
2. Facilitate all technical aspects of putting on a show at the London Palladium, be that television, rock and roll, comedy or musicals.
3. Assist the Venue Technicians in the maintenance of the theatre.
4. Work closely with visiting productions and companies to ensure the smooth and safe operation of each show and event.
5. Work as part of a team to maintain a professional work environment where performers, audience and technicians are safe.
6. Problem solving, particularly in a live performance environment.
What we need…
1. Experience of operating Robert Juliat Followspots.
2. Excellent verbal communication skills.
3. Experience of working as part of a technical team.
4. Can adapt to changing circumstances and overcome challenges.
5. Happy to work unsociable hours.
6. Professional and proactive manner with impeccable timekeeping.
7. Logical and methodical including the ability to follow instruction precisely.
8. Adaptable with the ability to use initiative.
9. Technical theatre experience from another West End theatre, number one touring theatre or music venue.
Salary: £19.57 per hour
