Age Care Central is a company that manages Maryann Resthome, Hospital and Dementia Unit, a 66-bed facility. We also have a retirement village with 24 units and look after 150 clients in the Stratford community. Maryann Resthome is a multi-cultural employer, with a friendly welcoming environment to work in. We are looking for a permanent caregiver to cover all shifts as needed. This would include morning, afternoon, weekend, and night shifts. This would be 30 hours per week based on a rotating roster within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Recognise and report risks and/or changes in a person and/or family/whanau.
* Communicate to support a person’s health or wellbeing.
* Comply with the relevant policies related to punctuality, correct maintenance of time records, sick call procedure, professional appearance and conduct, smoking policy, and all House Rules.
* Support and uphold all policies, mission statement, and philosophies at all times.
* Safely, efficiently, and effectively deliver care by prioritising attendance to residents' needs and delivering the best care possible according to duty schedules and the Nursing Procedure Manual.
* Ensure that all routine cares are delivered as per resident’s care plans including showering, dressing, mobilising, grooming, and nutritional assistance.
* As required, the HCA might have to do laundry, and perform cleaning and kitchen duties in a helpful manner while maintaining good infection control principles.
* Observe privacy, dignity, comfort & confidentiality of residents.
* Keep confidential all facility’s business.
* Be an effective team worker with consideration for other employees. Maintain current and informative records of reports.
* Be flexible, show initiative, and be tolerant and understanding when duties are busy. Be readily adaptable to change.
* Communicate effectively with residents and staff. Observe and report any changes in the resident’s condition and vital signs.
* Follow sound basic hygiene and infection control principles particularly in relation to handwashing.
* Develop professionally, including attendance of annual education and training sessions as per our schedule and legislative requirements, one of which must be FIRE AND HEALTH AND SAFETY.
* Perform other duties as may be reasonably required to maximise the resident's safety and sense of wellbeing.
* Adhere to Health and Safety Policies. Report any hazards and incidents and accidents. Cooperate with any investigations. Attend relevant training.
* Assist with meal serving following sound infection control principles. Assist residents who need help. Observe residents’ intake and report any discrepancies.
Wage rate would be dependent on qualifications:
* Level 0: $23.73
* Level 2: $25.15
* Level 3: $27.34
* Level 4a: $28.44
* Level 4b: $29.56
Plus an additional allowance for weekend and night shifts.
