Age Care Central is a company that manages Maryann Resthome, Hospital and Dementia Unit, a 66-bed facility. We also have a retirement village with 24 units and look after 150 clients in the Stratford community. Maryann Resthome is a multi-cultural employer, with a friendly welcoming environment to work in. We are looking for a permanent caregiver to cover all shifts as needed. This would include morning, afternoon, weekend, and night shifts. This would be 30hrs per week based on a rotating roster within the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Work collaboratively to support the health and wellbeing of a person with complex needs.
2. Implement person-centred approaches to support a person with complex needs.
3. Recognise and respond to signs of vulnerability and abuse.
4. Demonstrate ethical and professional behaviour.
5. Provide person-centred care under the direction and delegation of a health professional.
6. Recognise and respond to change.
7. Provide person-centred support to maximise independence.
8. Work within the responsibilities and boundaries of their role.
9. Perform entry-level person-centred tasks and functions in a health or wellbeing setting.
10. Recognise and report risks and/or changes in a person and/or family/whanau.
11. Communicate to support a person’s health or wellbeing.
12. Comply with the relevant policies related to punctuality, correct maintenance of time records, sick call procedure, professional appearance and conduct, smoking policy, and all House Rules.
13. Support and uphold all policies, mission statement, and philosophies at all times.
14. Safely, efficiently, and effectively deliver care by prioritising attendance to Resident's needs and delivering the best care possible according to duty schedules and the Nursing Procedure Manual.
15. Ensure that all routine cares are delivered as per resident’s care plans including, showering, dressing, mobilising, grooming, nutritional assistance.
16. Perform laundry, cleaning, and kitchen duties as required while maintaining good infection control principles.
17. Observe privacy, dignity, comfort & confidentiality of residents.
18. Keep confidential all facility’s business.
19. Be an effective Team worker with consideration for other employees.
20. Maintain up-to-date and informative records of reports.
21. Be flexible, show initiative, and be tolerant and understanding when duties are busy.
22. Communicate effectively with Residents and staff, observing and reporting any changes in the resident’s condition and vital signs.
23. Follow sound basic hygiene and infection control principles particularly in relation to hand washing.
24. Develop professionally by attending annual Education and training sessions as per our schedule and legislative requirements, including FIRE AND HEALTH AND SAFETY.
25. Perform other duties as may be reasonably required to maximise the Resident's safety and sense of wellbeing.
26. Adhere to Health and Safety Policies, report any hazards and incidents, and cooperate with any investigations.
27. Assist with meal serving following sound infection control principles. Assist residents who need help and observe resident’s intake, reporting any discrepancies.
Wage rate would be dependent on qualifications:
1. Level 0 $23.73
2. Level 2 $25.15
3. Level 3 $27.34
4. Level 4 a $28.44
5. Level 4 b $29.56
Plus an additional allowance for weekend and night shifts.
