We have an exciting job opportunity to work within the School Admissions Team in BCP Council Children’s Services and are looking for a School Admissions and Transport Officer (Band E, permanent, full-time).
The team works together to deliver the following:
* Provide access to school places by implementing the school admission process.
* Assess home to school transport applications for assistance for eligible children.
* Support parents/carers, local school partners, and other agencies by answering queries and providing advice relating to school admissions, home to school transport, current legislation, and appeals processes.

You will be part of a team of friendly and supportive colleagues, dealing with a high volume of enquiries and working with a range of partners.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals with a strong commitment to customer care who can communicate in a calm and professional way whilst being sensitive to the issues facing families and colleagues who are requesting information and help.
Candidates must have:
* A minimum of two A levels or NVQ 2/3 in Business Administration (or equivalent experience).
* Good knowledge of ICT including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
* Experience of providing administrative support in a busy office environment.
* Experience of liaising with members of the public and staff from all levels of an organisation and providing a high standard of customer care.
* Ability to analyse, compile, and present information in various formats including statistical information, reports, and meeting notes.
* Ability to prepare engaging presentations using a clear brief.
* Ability to organise meetings including logging requests received, compilation, and distribution of paperwork, and keeping accurate notes of discussions and decisions made at meetings.
* Experience of diary management for senior officers.
* Attention to detail with the ability to proofread.
* The ability to work within established processes and procedures and to make decisions using criteria and policy.
The role requires excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to plan and prioritise workloads, work accurately, be organised under pressure, and work to tight deadlines. Resilience to the demands and pressures of the role is essential.
