We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Gastroenterology and Acute Medical ward team.
Your role will be to provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model and supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in driving quality care provision forward while being responsible for standards of cleanliness in your clinical area. You will work in partnership with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and provide clear clinical leadership to staff, deputising for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence.
Main Duties of the Job
You will have a sound clinical knowledge of the unique clinical needs of medical patients and a desire to deliver the right treatment in the right place at the right time.
You will need to demonstrate specialist expertise and professional knowledge acquired through post-registration academic study, clinical, leadership, and management development, working and acting as a role model for professional practice and leadership.
In addition to your clinical expertise, you will have an interest in developing your leadership style and people management expertise in conjunction with the HR team, along with excellent inspiring communication skills.
You will be committed to leading by example, encouraging and empowering your team along with all members of the MDT to ensure consistently high standards of care are set and delivered.

Job Responsibilities
Your role will be to promote, develop, and maintain a culture within the Ward/Department in collaboration with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, which challenges and questions practice and promotes the quality of thinking among practitioners. You will ensure that staff and students receive effective and documented induction, mentorship, development, and support.
