You will be a leader, with proven success in the wealth management industry, you will develop and implement strategic plans that drive business growth, profitability, and market share. As a confident and effective communicator, you will be passionate about people development, identifying areas for the team to strengthen and grow. You will have an excellent track record of building relationships and identifying innovative solutions that are attractive to the market.
As the Managing Director leading the wealth management team, you must possess a deep understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and portfolio management, along with the ability to analyse complex financial data, manage budgets, and ensure the firm's financial health, while also having experience in financial planning to meet the firm's profitability and growth targets.
What will you be doing?
As the Managing Director you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business operations, including client and portfolio development, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and team leadership.
* Client Relationships: You will play a key role in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring that service levels meet both company and client expectations. You will develop and implement sales strategies to attract new clients and identify growth opportunities with existing clients.
* Strategy: You will lead from the front and own the strategy. You will actively participate in the Board to develop, guide, and achieve the business goals. You will act as the eyes on the ground, identifying opportunities and evaluating internal and external issues, alerting the board accordingly. Be an ambassador for the business within the wider business group, promoting strong relationships and developing our wider network.
* Compliance: You will implement and uphold robust governance structures and comprehensive risk management practice; and ensure full adherence to FCA regulations to maintain the firm's integrity and operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s operations and practices are fully compliant with regulatory requirements.
* Operations & Leadership: You will foster a culture that aligns with the company's group purpose, vision and values. You will do this by overseeing the day to day operations of the business, ensuring that everything meets or exceeds expectations. You will be passionate about the development of your team - mentoring and managing the performance of team members, setting clear goals and objectives and providing regular support and feedback.
* Financial performance: You will oversee and optimise the business’s financial performance, strategically guiding the organisation to consistently meet or surpass its financial objectives and targets. You will work closely with the CFO, budgeting, preparing monthly reports and reviewing financial goals/budgets.

* Proven track record of success in senior leadership roles, focused on engagement leadership, emotional intelligence and motivating and guiding others.
* You take ownership and have a strong sense of accountability, responsibility and commitment. You take the initiative, are fully engaged, and take pride in what you do.
* You are delivery focused and thrive in a results driven environment, meeting deadlines and goals.
* Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective growth strategies, provide strategic insights and direction for the company to move in.
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with stakeholders, colleagues, and clients.
* Deep knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and wealth management practices, with extensive and proven industry experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of FCA regulations and other relevant financial legislation.
* Possession of professional certifications at a minimum of Level 4, such as the Diploma for Financial Advisers (DipFA), is highly desirable. Additionally, holding designations like Chartered Financial Planner or Certified Financial Planner would be particularly advantageous.
* Full UK Driving license.
What’s on offer for the successful candidate?
Our client is open to different backgrounds and levels of experience, hence the salary range. For them this will come down to the person and how you demonstrate your ability to lead and really take this business forward. The salary on offer is £100,000 - £140,000 (base salary) dependent on experience, with bonus, equity and LTIP (a little further down the line). There are a whole host of other benefits available too.
