The Team Leader in the Children’s Children’s Community Team, providing management and leadership of an established team of paediatric nurses and health care staff. The role is both a clinical and non-clinical and the correct applicant will need to manage their own time effectively to balance these two roles.
They will need to:
• work flexibly to support the team, taking responsibility for the diary, acting as a role model and providing clinical expertise to the team.
• be knowledgeable and competent in their clinical skills.
• be innovative and an effective communicator listening to the team and managing change
• ensure the high standards of care provided to children, and;
• support governance in the clinical care.

· Be an effective professional role model for staff in the team and the wider MDT
· Maintain own professional development through ongoing education and development, ensuring they maintain all mandatory training requirement
· Offer professional support and guidance to all nursing and midwifery staff within the Children’s Community Nursing Team
· Act as an advocate for children/young people and their families to ensure the holistic child centred approach to the delivery of care
· Promote good working relationships within the nursing team
· Be responsible for maintaining a safe environment for staff working in children’s own homes and other setting in the community
· Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to provide care to infants, children, young people and their families
· Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care and the child’s experience of care through audit and monitoring of the patient experience
· Maintain clinical records in accordance with NMC ‘Guidelines on Record Keeping’ and Trust policies
· Use IT Patient Information systems as necessary and in accordance with Trust policies, undertaking training as required.
