Team Role: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions and drive successful project outcomes. Act as the lead Quantity Surveyor and Employer's Agent / Project Manager for your projects and support the wider team on projects lead by others. Develop technical knowledge to give guidance to others across a variety of sectors, with a keen focus on residential development projects. Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the organisation. Individual Duties: Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs. Act as Employer's Agent on Design & Build Projects incorporating Quantity Surveying duties. Act as Project Manager / Contract Administrator on traditionally procured projects. Co-ordinate and communicate effectively with clients and other consultants throughout all stages of a project. Lead project meetings and take an accurate and informative record of discussions and minutes. Produce End Stage Reports and advise clients on cost, programme and risks throughout all stages of a project. Oversee the financial aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and procurement plans. Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and addressing any risks promptly. Advising on procurement strategies and differing forms of contract. Contribute to procurement strategy advice. Compiling contract documents, performance bonds and collateral warranties. Administer contracts and manage variations, claims and disputes effectively. Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of contract terms and conditions. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and relevant regulations. Implement robust cost control measures to optimise project profitability. Advise on potential Value Engineering opportunities. Track project costs, expenditures and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports. Provide expert guidance to clients and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making throughout project lifecycles. Skills and Requirements: Minimum 5 years' experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry is preferred. MRICS status is desirable but not essential. Employer's Agent and Project Management experience is essential. Residential Development project experience is important. Infrastructure project experience is desirable but not essential. Good presentation and communication skills including experience of client facing lead roles. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods and cost management principals. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data. Collaborative and team-oriented approach to work. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines. Valid driving licence. Knowledge of: Proficient in MS Excel. JCT suites of contracts. NEC contracts. Cost management software. Project management software. MS365.
