A major supplier to airlines, aircraft manufacturers, and militaries worldwide, the company drives advancements in fuel efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance. Currently, they're recruiting for several Senior Strategic Buyers in the UK. This role is crucial for developing procurement strategies, fostering strong supplier relationships, and maintaining a resilient, high-performing supply chain within a highly regulated and innovative industry. As a Senior Strategic Buyer, the position involves overseeing sourcing activities from initial proposals to contract finalization, negotiating favorable terms, and managing supplier contracts to deliver maximum value. What You Will Be Doing: Sourcing and Negotiation: Develop and lead sourcing activities from proposal to contract signature. This includes negotiation, performing cost analysis by creating Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycle models, and building business cases to select high-performing suppliers that align with cost, quality, delivery, sustainability, management, and technology objectives. Contract Management: Draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance and optimize terms. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and resilience. Category Strategy Development: Collaborate with relevant functions and stakeholders to lead and contribute to category strategies, staying updated on key market trends and technologies. Supplier Relationship Management: Oversee supplier performance, lead cost-reduction activities, and resolve commercial issues. Who We Are Looking For: Qualifications and Experience: A degree in a relevant field or a CIPS qualification, with experience as a Senior Strategic Buyer in a regulated or complex industry. Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and risk management is essential. Negotiation and Financial Skills: Proven track record of successful negotiations, coupled with robust commercial and financial skills, including an understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and associated analytics. Communication and Influence: Excellent skills in communication, influencing, and relationship management, with a focus on delivering value. Problem Solving and Innovation: A passion for driving change and solving complex problems, alongside digital awareness and analytical capability.
