But with the right support, its possible. Thats where you come in. Were looking for a Personal Well-being Mentor - someone with a rare mix of compassion, resilience, organisation and flexibility. This is for the person who understands that rehabilitation isnt just about offering advice; its about rolling up your sleeves and pro-actively supporting someone on their journey. The Role: Youll be working with men as they transition from prison back into the community. Your work starts before theyre released, going into custody to support with plans for their reintegration. But the real challenge kicks in post-release, when they need guidance navigating challenges and risk factors in community. This is where your caseload management comes in. Youll be juggling multiple individuals at once, ensuring each person gets the focused support they need, while keeping meticulous records of every interaction. Why? Because progress only counts when its measured. Youll be traveling between Prisons, offices, and community hubs daily, meeting people where they are, both literally and figuratively. So, no day will ever be the same What youll do: Pre-release planning: Meet with men in custody to create a personalised roadmap for their transition back into society, identifying specific needs and barriers. Community-based support: Guide them post-release, helping them reintegrate through practical well-being activities, from housing and employment to mental health and social connections. Caseload management: Youll manage multiple individuals, balancing their needs while keeping up with all the behind-the-scenes admin. Quality Recording: Keep thorough, up-to-date records of all your work, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and progress is properly tracked. Group & 121 Delivery: Deliver wellbeing support to men in various settings, either through tailored support sessions or utilising set interventions and learning materials. Daily travel: Youll be on the move-between prisons, offices, and community centres-offering support wherever its needed most. What you need: Relationship Building: Youre able to connect with people at all levels, engaging with key stakeholders within Probation and building trust with Service Users in a way thats genuine and non-judgmental. Service Ambassador: Regular engagement with relevant organisations to enhance their understanding of the service. Promoting the benefits of the service and identifying men who may want to be referred. Organisation: You can handle a busy caseload and stay on top of detailed records without missing a beat. Resilience: This is hard work, and you wont always see immediate results-but youre the kind of person who sticks with it. Flexibility: Youll need to be comfortable with change, as referral flows & prisoner releases change frequently. Transport: You'll need the means to travel between prisons and community sites each day. Enhanced DBS: A full enhanced DBS will be required access custody as part of the role.
