Job summary The Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service (SHYPS) is seeking an enthusiastic and hard working Medical Laboratory Assistant, to work in our busy, friendly Cellular Pathology laboratory at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Based in Hull, your role will be to carry out a wide variety of laboratory based tasks, including equipment maintenance, reagent management and data inputting. The successful candidate would have a supporting laboratory role working alongside qualified Biomedical Scientists. Main duties of the job To provide support to clinical, scientific and technical staff in the Cellular Pathology Department. To perform basic laboratory procedures, including receiving samples, maintaining equipment, reagent management, stock management and use of the laboratory computer system. To work as a team member liaising with colleagues and managers. The Cellular Pathology laboratory is based in a purpose built facility at Hull Royal Infirmary, that forms part of an integrated Cellular Pathology service within The Scarborough, Hull and York Pathology Service.
