Description What you'll be doing The Data Analyst Apprenticeship Programme at Motability Operations is an exciting opportunity to take your first steps into a rewarding career at a high performing organisation. For the duration of the 18-month programme we will support you in combining work and education - you will have an opportunity to gain a Data Analyst qualification while also being an important and highly valued member of a well-established and respected team. You will have the opportunity to build your knowledge of data analysis by working alongside experienced individuals in exciting and rewarding projects and programmes. This opportunity will provide you with an alternative route into a highly successful organisation away from the classic university pathway. You'll have a chance to learn from experts in their field, develop and grow, while working in a collaborative and innovative environment. You will complete a comprehensive training programme with a chosen provider and will be guided on every step of your apprenticeship journey. Data analysts have an interesting and varied set of responsibilities that vary depending on project requirements and personal drive. They could involve performing initial analysis on raw data, clarifications on business requirements, data validation, processing, governance, visualisation, testing and automation. The Data Analyst is often the first person to interact with new data within the team, so is responsible for initial classification and cleansing of the data, along with providing information to the data engineers. They will also help people from the business understand the value of their data and insights that can come from it. As part of your training and development, you will develop technical and non-technical skills that will allow you to: Analyse and evaluate data in various formats (DB tables, JSON, csv, etc) Work on databases, including SQL and data structures Collaborate closely within your team and beyond Work in an agile development environment Help define and maintain technical and business processes Present ideas and findings in meetings Who you'll be working with The Data & Business Intelligence team at MO provides tools and methods for the wider business to garner insights from our data warehouse and data lake. We work mainly on Oracle, Snowflake and AWS technologies, with additional use of other database and coding technologies. We are an innovative and supportive team, working closely with various areas across the business to ensure that we meet their reporting needs in the best possible way. Recruitment Process Application and CV As part of your application, you will answer four questions specific to the apprenticeship role. If you apply through the Disability Confident scheme and meet the minimum criteria, your application will be progressed to the video assessment stage. Video Assessment You will answer u p to 6 questions via video response. For each question, you will have 2 minutes thinking time and up to 3 minutes response time. Additional resources will be provided to you before you begin to support you through this stage. Assessment Centre If you progress to the next stage, you will be invited to an assessment centre. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to learn more about us. At the Assessment Centre, you will: Attend our Bristol office and meet the team. Participate in an interview. Complete task activities. Offer If you are successful, we will make you an offer to join our team. The start date for this apprenticeship is in September. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a passion and desire to learn and who enjoy working and collaborating with others. You should feel comfortable working both independently and in teams. You should have a keen interest in learning about data and technology, even if you have no qualifications or experience in this field. An ability to understand, explain and solve complex problems would also be a benefit. You should be enthusiastic when dealing with changes and new challenges, be proactive in maintaining a balance between work and learning and have an inquisitive mindset. You should be able to demonstrate a drive to perform and preferably already be proficient in the use of core Microsoft software such as Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Any exposure to databases, or use of data analysis or visualisation tools would a large benefit. Minimum criteria You'll need all of these. To have the right to work in the UK To have lived in the UK continuously for the past 3 years At least a grade of 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English 3 A levels / BTEC's at grade A-C in any subject (a ttained or predicted).
