About the Role
Oakham School is seeking an exceptional person to join our dynamic Admissions & Marketing Department. This is an exciting opportunity to support our wider school strategy and build on Oakham’s well-established reputation as one of the country’s leading independent schools.
The Admissions Department manages all enquiries and applications to Oakham School, including day and boarding pupils from the UK and overseas. Reporting to one of our experienced Admissions Managers, you will primarily manage the admissions experience for UK-based students, with some support for international students.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who can clearly demonstrate how their prior experience will enable them to manage the key responsibilities and can show a track record of roles in which they have developed the required skills and attributes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support families through their journey from enquiry to enrolment with care and empathy.
* Manage data on the school’s MIS.
* Administer the processes for running entrance assessments, hosting scholarship auditions and making offers.
* Plan and run online, onsite and offsite events.
Required Skills and Attributes:
* Impeccable Customer Service:Demonstrated experience in people-facing roles with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Attention to Detail:Ability to maintain accuracy and precision in all tasks.
* Process Improvement:Confidence in identifying and implementing opportunities to enhance systems and processes.
* Adaptability:Flexibility to manage changing needs and priorities.
* Relationship Building:Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships internally and externally.
* IT Proficiency:Strong skills in MS Word, MS Excel, SharePoint, and databases, with a willingness to explore and implement new digital technologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree educated with experience in a professional working environment.
* Knowledge of school recruitment and independent education is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to learn quickly and apply exceptional administrative experience from other sectors.
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.
* Collaborative and flexible team player.
* Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Any prior experience of working in compliance with UKVI regulations is welcome.
* An awareness of the independent education sector environment would be an advantage.
This is a full-time role, working throughout the calendar year, based on site at Oakham School. Flexibility of hours will be required occasionally in line with school activities.
