The Pharmacy Coordinator is anew role supporting a growing team within an established Partnership deliveringexcellent care across two practice sites. You will work with a range ofprofessionals including GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses,Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Administrators. The role focuseson the timely requesting of prescriptions, finding information for queries andpassing this onto the relevant team member, liaising with patients andcommunity pharmacies and responding to administrative tasks. You will workwithin a dynamic team, managing a challenging workload and will contribute toour efficient service that makes a difference to the health and wellbeing ofthousands of our patients.
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the Pharmacy Coordinator. There may be, on occasion,
a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and
staffing levels:
* Following protocols to ensure an effective prescription ordering process, which includes the setup of repeat dispensing, issuing acute and repeat medication if indicated and supporting patients with medication queries.
* Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately.
* Inviting patients in for drug monitoring and structured medication reviews where required.
* Process personal, telephone, email, and e-requests for appointments.
* Signpost patients to the correct service.
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
* Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary.
* Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner.
* Carry out system searches as requested.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times.
* Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.

Qualifications

NVQ2 Dispensary Assistant (or equivalent)
Experience

Previous GP Practice / Community Pharmacyexperience
