Avenue are currently seeking a Production Manager to join a successful and established organisation at their Fife based facility. The Production Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of operations, incorporating manufacturing, purchasing, customer services, facilities management and health and safety. The Production Manager will be expected to maintain the Companies high levels of product quality, customer service and short lead times while continually improving the business processes and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Operations: Managing operations daily Maintaining high levels of product quality through clear guidelines and processes Meeting agreed delivery schedules on short lead times while providing customers with flexibility in terms of both volumes and packaging Delivering gains in efficiency through process improvements on the factory floor and utilisation of IT systems Undertaking regular stock checks and investigating any shortage Support will be provided by the General Manager, Office Administrator and two Production Team LeadersPeople Management: Managing a team of 15 including two Team Leaders and 13 Production Assistants Developing and cross-skilling of team members through training, communication and encouragement Developing the team's understanding and use of onsite IT systems Maintaining a good culture and team morale Managing poor performance and disciplinary processes, in accordance with employment law Support will be provided by the General Manager and group HR ManagerSite Management: Ensuring that the company adheres to all workplace health and safety requirements Develop a safety-first culture within the team Carry out all necessary risk assessments Maintain accurate records of the company's health and safety, compliance and site activities Keeping all equipment and machinery on site in good order following regular maintenance and repair plans Ensuring the site is clean and tidyRequired Experience: 5 years in a management position within manufacturing Leadership and management of a production team Continuous improvement within production processes Management of a budget and delivery of operational targets Maintenance, servicing and repair of manufacturing equipment A high level of competency with manufacturing software systems and Microsoft Office Performance under pressure in meeting challenging production targets and deadlinesKey competencies Manufacturing expertise and continuous improvement Leadership and people management skills IT competency particularly manufacturing software systems Health and safety, risk assessments and facilities managementQualifications or recognised training in manufacturing, people management or health and safety would be advantageous. A bachelor's degree would be am advantage but is not essential.
