Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team on a fixed-term contract during the Easter school holidays. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking school meals in a school kitchen for children during our holiday clubs.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and experience in meal preparation, particularly in a school or similar high-volume setting. You will work as part of a small team to prepare approximately 300 meals per day, following a set menu of eight dishes while adhering to school food standards and strict food safety protocols, having knowledge on food allergies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and serve a variety of meals following standardised recipes.
* Oversee kitchen operations and support staff as needed.
* Ensure meals meet food quality, safety, and presentation standards.
* Monitor ingredient stock levels and place orders as necessary.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Cook in a school kitchen, restaurant, or similar setting.
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Proficiency in meal preparation techniques and high-volume cooking.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
