A busy fitted-furniture manufacturing/fitout company based in the Northwest, focusing on the Hospitality, Leisure, Medical, and Education sectors. Due to continuing growth, we are looking to increase our team with a new position for an additional Estimator to assist in the rising number of tender enquiries we are receiving and to develop new clients and help grow the business.
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
1. Accurate estimation of costs and preparation of tender documentation for submission to potential clients.
2. Reviewing tender documentation and assisting in the preparation for tender submittal.
3. Identifying and building new relationships with Clients.
4. Developing a close working relationship within the company team.
5. Reviewing/reading a bill of material, drawings, specifications, and schedule of finishes.
6. Identifying key risks and opportunities ensuring that they are effectively queried where appropriate at the tender stage to gain as much clarity as possible.
7. Calculation of site management and preliminary costs.
8. Participating in final negotiations.
9. Engaging in post-tender and post-contract discussions and cost considerations, including evaluation of the contract.
10. Coordinating and preparing pre-qualification questionnaires and following up on pre-qualifications.
11. Assisting in all aspects of tender preparation and submission.
12. Preparing handover files from Estimating to the Project Management team for tenders won.
13. Reviewing and following up on tenders submitted, and analyzing tenders that are not successful.
14. Identification, valuation, and agreement of variations on projects, along with preparation and submission of payment claims.
Applicants should have:
1. Excellent IT skills.
2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently.
3. Ability to work to deadlines with a proactive and organized approach.
4. Previous experience within the joinery/construction industry would be an advantage.
Desired Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
1. 3rd level Construction/Commercial qualification.
2. Postgraduate experience preferred but not essential.
Hours of work & salary range:
8am through to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 1.30pm finish on a Friday. Competitive salary range offered dependant on relevant experience.
