Main duties of the job Your primary responsibilities will be; Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, their families, and carers Outpatient clinic co-ordination which includes clinic preparation, assisting the assigned the co-ordiantor in clinic and any follow up requirements Phlebotomy Working with on call co-ordinator in preparation a patient for surgery on the day of transplant Demonstrating your communication skills and compassion on the day of elective surgery by supporting the patients emotionally and practically. You will follow the patients journey on the day of their live donor surgery/ transplantation in the immediate post operative period Working alongside the co-ordinator team to manage the transplant waiting list, this includes blood test monitoring and having regular communication with patients who are waiting for a transplant. The patients maybe waiting for several years for a transplant, this will allow you the opportunity to build a supportive relationship for this cohort of patients. Communicate with colleagues and members of the multi-disciplinary team clearly and effectively, this includes written, verbal and electronic forms of communication The role is patient facing however your base will be in the co-ordinations office to allow you to prepare for your duties.
