Job Summary
Responsible to ensure that company employees can complete their work safely. They set and communicate safety standards for the workplace based on legal requirements and train employees to help them understand these rules. Monitor working conditions and provide guidance on safety issues that may arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Inspect active project sites to evaluate ongoing work conditions to guarantee compliance with applicable regulations and company safety policies.
2. Assist Project Superintendents and Project Managers in identifying and reporting any violation or unsafe practice where there is danger to life or property.
3. Assist Project Superintendents and Project Managers to present reports on incidents and violations and determine root causes.
4. Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as insurance personnel and general contractors.
5. Conduct Safety training on safe work practices, emergency procedures, and competent person areas.

* Demonstrated superior interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work independently with little direction.
* Demonstrated organizational skills in handling, directing, and prioritizing multiple and complex assignments/projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining records.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and industry-related software to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and communicate with others.
* Ability to perform and excel in a high-tech all-digital environment.
* Ability to inspire and motivate individuals to perform at their highest level.
* Ability to handle sensitive and extensive confidential data.
Required Education and Experience
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Safety Specialist or similar role.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation.
* Understanding of federal, state and local safety requirements.
* Strong Knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction, 1910 general industry standards, and EM 385 standards.
* CPR/1st Aid Instructor certified.
* Experience with OSHA 500 Outreach Construction Training Certification.
