The role of the Inventory Controller is to ensure that our business maintains sufficient stock levels to meet demand, analyses purchasing and sales patterns, and anticipates potential inventory issues. Booking parts onto work to be carried out as well as booking parts back in. Assist with booking parts /jobs onto the stock system. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical Inventory Controller to manage our inventory operations. The responsibilities include maintaining inventory levels, making sound decisions about inventory movement, and monitoring inventory data. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of inventory management, procurement processes, and logistics. What You’ll Be Doing Maintain and update inventory records including updating our MRP system Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices. Monitor and report on inventory levels, deliveries, and shortages. Performing regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure accuracy Coordinate and manage annual physical inventory audits. Coordinate with Warehouse and Goods in staff to ensure proper storage and distribution of inventory. Coordinate with Planning and Purchasing to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock. Processing and documenting damaged inventory and coordinating repairs or disposal Identifying and resolving discrepancies between inventory records and physical counts Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to inventory control Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments. Evaluate new inventory to ensure it’s ready for shipment. Collaborate with other teams to ensure business goals are met. Ensure excess and obsolete stock is identified, cross functionally assessed and managed through either consumption, sell to the external market or through the scrap approval process. What You Will Bring Proven work experience as an Inventory Controller, or similar role. Good understanding of supply chain procedures. Active participation in inventory audits. Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports. An analytical mind with strong attention to detail. Able to manage their own time to achieve daily targets Flexibility within the role to be able to cover other areas of warehouse team Practiced problem-solving skills Able to work to tight deadlines Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative. Preferred but not required. Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods. Outstanding organizational and planning skills. Strong leadership skills
