We’re looking for an experienced Android Developer to create and develop high-profile, rock-solid, beautiful Android applications.

We started in 2008 in London and have since sent millions of personalised cards worldwide. Our apps and website have been featured in the world’s leading press, in Google Play and iTunes, and on grandparents’ fridges worldwide.
Our app is available on the iPhone, iPad, Android mobiles and tablets as well as on touchnote.com.
The Role
1. Deliver the next version of our Android app with a significantly improved UX and design.
2. Attend project kick-off, design and review meetings.
3. Transform requirements into compelling, usable, media-rich interactive experiences on Android phone and tablet devices.
4. Interface and coordinate with team members, including Product management and designers.
5. Write clean, documented, reusable, and scalable code for deployment on mobile platforms.
6. Maintain a coding skill set consistent with current and upcoming Android platform capabilities, sharing knowledge as applicable.
7. Work at both detailed and abstract levels, solving problems creatively.
8. Be highly productive, creative and motivated.
The Candidate
Essential
1. At least 4 years experience in Android development, from conceptualisation through to successful launch of an application in Google Play.
2. Genuine love for beautiful code and design, a good eye (or two), and an insatiable desire to improve the user experience and user happiness of everything around us.
3. Be passionate about Touchnote and our mission to be the best way to send meaningful messages and gifts to the people you care about.
4. Be knowledgeable about the mobile app ecosystem and agile development.
5. Strong understanding of the latest features and development best practices for Android, including features in upcoming SDKs, resource optimisation techniques and social network integration (e.g. Facebook).
6. Proven familiarity with OOP and implementation of software design patterns.
Desirable
1. Experience with client-server type architectures and protocols.
2. Experience in working with designers, product managers and software engineers to come up with breakthrough product ideas.
3. Bachelor in Computer Science.
