As a Senior Care Assistant, you play a crucial role in our home, driving a team of Care Assistants to deliver high-quality personal care to our residents while inspiring, developing, and nurturing them to be their best every day.
We’ll train you on all aspects of our new digital care, which is transforming how we work, making things easier and allowing you to focus on clinical excellence and care for our residents. You’ll help us make health happen by:
1. Taking day-to-day responsibility for running a unit
2. Supporting clinical duties, including assisting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans, and maintain accurate record keeping
3. Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including being responsible for all shift handovers
4. Helping train and supervise new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
5. Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
6. Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
* You’ll have completed or be working towards an NVQ3 in care. We’re happy to support you in completing your qualification if needed.
* You are motivated, positive, and possess great interpersonal skills. You enjoy working in a close-knit team and are pivotal in running a unit, collaborating with the Nurse to aid with clinical duties.
* You have previous experience in the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. You also have a passion for making a real difference in people’s lives, providing them with the kindness, personalized support, and dignity they need.
