Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Fort William, Scotland

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £36,000 – £45,000 per year (includes shift allowance and additional payments)
Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (3 days on, 2 days off, 3 nights on, 7 days off) – holidays built into the rotation
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering & Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting plant operations through proactive maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns, while contributing to ongoing improvements in performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns
* Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a wide range of plant equipment
* Read and interpret electrical drawings and apply technical knowledge
* Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including written isolation procedures
* Complete maintenance tasks and shift handovers within required timeframes
* Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work environment
* Report incidents and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
About You
* Time-served electrician with relevant qualifications
* Hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and fault-finding
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain calm under pressure
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
* Able to work independently or as part of a team
* Ex-forces engineers are strongly encouraged to apply
