Job summary A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated Dietitian to join the Manchester Adults Cystic Fibrosis Centre (MACFC) as a Senior Specialist Dietitian for up to 11 months, as cover for maternity leave. The MACFC cares for 500 adults with cystic fibrosis who live in the Northwest region of the UK, providing a high-quality patient focused service, with a national and international reputation for research.The MACFC has a strong commitment to the development of both patient services and staff. The dietetic team consists of a Lead Dietitian, 3 Senior Specialist CF Dietitians and 3 Specialist CF Dietitians. The team sits independent to the main dietetic department within the MACFC. Enthusiasm and a keen interest in cystic fibrosis are vital. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective leadership skills and have previous experience in supervision of junior staff. Previous clinical experience in nutritional support, enteral feeding, and diabetes are essential. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective communication, a flexible attitude, and an ability to prioritise and manage a busy complex caseload. Excellent personal and team working skills are essential. Experience in audit, quality improvement and research are desirable. Main duties of the job Provide an efficient and high quality specialised dietetic service for patients with cystic fibrosis. As a highly experienced autonomous practitioner assess, request diagnostic tests for, diagnose and treat patients within their own case load of inpatients and/or outpatients/in individual and group settings. To be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team. To support the lead dietitian with the management and development of clinical services to patients attending the Manchester Adult Cystic (MACFC). Manage and provide leadership for qualified dietitians in MACFC and supervise students. Identify, co-ordinate and undertake continual professional development, audit, research activities and in-service training within MACFC. Identify and progress opportunities for service development within MACFC dietetics. Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work, working to agreed national and professional standards.
