NHS Dumfries and Galloway with an annual revenue budget of approximately £430m and a capital budget of £4m per annum, the finance department is an essential support services team, supporting our staff and clinical teams in delivering healthcare.
A vacancy has arisen for the post of Associate Director of Finance – Financial Sustainability and Improvement, working at the centre of the financial recovery plan and leading the Financial Management function for NHS Dumfries and Galloway. The successful post holder will maintain strong budgetary and financial control, provide professional financial advice and management information to ensure NHS Dumfries and Galloway achieves its statutory financial targets and require an innovative and creative approaches to support the delivery of the Financial Recovery Programme.
The post holder will work with a range of senior staff including the Director of Finance, Deputy Director of Finance, Executive Directors and other senior colleagues to develop short and medium term financial plans in line with the local, regional and national priorities, ensuring financial plans are coordinated with capacity and workforce plans, as well as the Board’s clinical framework and property strategy.
Qualified to CCAB, CIMA or equivalent, with significant experience at a management level within the public sector, the candidate will be required to deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance, including attendance and presentation at NHS Board, Performance Committee and other similar meetings.
