A lovely down to earth and friendly family living on the outskirts of Durham, are looking for a full-time daily nanny to look after their 3 children.
The primary focus for most of the day are the younger two aged 1.5 years old and a newborn but they also have a very sporty daughter aged 13. Mum is currently on maternity leave but both parents have extremely busy careers so the role will be sole charge; however, both parents work from home occasionally. They are very keen to find someone that will become part of the family and stay for many years to come.
The ideal nanny will be comfortable and confident with weaning, potty training, and helping teach the younger children phonics, reading, and promoting all developmental milestones. Outdoor activities and nature exploration are also very important, and the nanny should enjoy getting hands-on with messy play. They value open communication and want someone to feel part of the family, and also to have shown longevity within previous roles. They would love to find someone that would be happy to travel with them around the UK and potentially abroad in the future due to family commitments, and also to occasionally babysit and proxy parent, but they very much understand that this will be agreed in advance and paid as overtime. They would also value finding someone that can be flexible and adaptable to their family’s needs. Discretion and confidentiality are very important to the family, so they will require you to sign an NDA.
The role includes all nursery duties, taking the younger children to activities/classes, children’s meal preparation, and planning fun activities at home. No formal housekeeping is required, but someone with a 'muck in' attitude and that is happy to help the home run smoothly, liaise with other household staff members, and be a team player would be very desirable. Their eldest daughter is home-schooled via online lessons, but the perfect nanny would be happy to support in helping with any projects etc. A driver is required due to the location, but the family are happy to provide a car whilst on duty. A second language would be beneficial; however, it is not essential.
This truly is a wonderful opportunity for a career nanny wanting their forever role in a warm, loving, and down to earth family.
