As part of our growing New Lending team, you'll play a crucial role in preparing and assessing lending proposals, helping our partners achieve their business goals. What you'll be doing: As a Lending Coordinator, you will support our Lending Managers in analysing and preparing new lending proposals for approval. Your responsibilities will include conducting financial assessments (underwriting), analysing borrower financials, and ensuring that loan applications align with internal policies and regulatory requirements. You will also interact directly with partners to review and manage short-term loans, business purchases, and refinancing requests. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to refine and develop your lending expertise within the UK financial services sector, making it ideal for those pursuing ACCA/CIMA or other professional qualifications. Responsibilities include: Prepare and assess Partner loan applications for underwriter approval. Manage Change of Trading (CoT) status requests, ensuring loans are re-underwritten before any transfer. Analyse business sale and purchase performance, ensuring timely settlement of payments. Coordinate with SJP Legal to prepare lending deeds and documents, ensuring compliance with FCA, CCA, and Companies House. Collaborate with external lenders to optimise fund usage in line with critical metrics and targets. Provide analytical insights into borrower financials, including revenue trends, costs, and financial projections. Build positive relationships with internal collaborators and the SJP Partnership to support loan discussions and decisions Who we're looking for: Experience in lending or banking environments with knowledge of personal and business lending. Strong understanding of trading entities, tax structures, and affordability calculations. Familiarity with the Consumer Credit Act (CCA) and personal lending regulations. Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel (knowledge of lookups is advantageous). Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to manipulate and interpret data. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Excellent time management skills to meet important timeframes and manage stakeholder expectations. Professional communication skills, capable of handling critical financial conversations with tact and discretion. Experience in UK financial services or accounting is desirable Curiosity about progressing through ACCA/CIMA or other relevant studies. Why Join Us?
