The IT Administrator at GB Railfreight provides essential support to employees by addressing hardware, software, and equipment-related needs. This role involves managing IT resources, maintaining inventory, and ensuring efficient operations through coordination with external vendors and internal teams. Closing date: 29th November 2024 Helpdesk Support Telephonic assistance for logging tickets into the helpdesk system. Assisting employees with hardware and software issues; escalating tickets where necessary. Responding to helpdesk tickets or user requests for IT equipment. Hardware and Software Management Ordering and maintaining hardware, such as iPhones, iPads, bodycams, computers, printers, and peripherals for new starters. Mobile management tasks, including working with mobile providers to apply bars, order new equipment, disconnect SIMs, and set up new connections. Updating the Asset Management system with accurate device assignments and documentation. Employee IT Support Setting up accounts, emails, and hardware for new starters. Revoking access and recovering equipment from leavers. Issuing equipment and tracking IT resources assigned to employees. Organising the collection of equipment from leavers. Inventory and Vendor Coordination Maintaining suitable stock levels of consumables and equipment. Managing IT equipment inventory, including laptops, phones, and SIM cards. Coordinating repairs or replacements with external vendors. Project Support Providing support to IT project teams as needed. Skills and Experience · Demonstrated interest in Information Technology through activities such as coding personal projects, building and customising PCs, or exploring emerging technologies. · Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with vendors, colleagues and users · Demonstrated administration, organisational and problem-solving skills · An interest in pursuing a career in Information Technology. · Experience in a similar position would be beneficial but not essential as training will be provided.
