The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Mechanical Site Supervisor to work on Thames Water projects in the Thames Valley region. What you will be doing Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to by monitoring and mentoring the Tilbury Douglas team and their supply chain. Monitor the quality of sub-contract work to ensure work meets required Thames Water asset standards and project specifications. Resolve site technical queries by liaison with the Design team and Project Engineering team for the best technical solution to meet project specifications. Provide support to Site Managers with client liaison by attending meetings and reporting progress to ensure customer satisfaction. Liaise with the supply chain for the provision of technical support and information to ensure safe and efficient operation of their equipment to meet client needs. Maintain a site diary to record work activities and resources used and to ensure a record of all work activities is maintained. Ensure that all site activity meets both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements, including Thames Water asset standards, with respect to Health, Safety and the Environment to ensure the company's obligations and policies in these areas are fully complied with. Contribute to profitability on site by maximising efficient use of manpower and plant resources and minimising abortive works. Contribute to the Company’s reputation by maintaining good working relationships with the client’s on-site staff during installation activities. Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and compliance with the Company safe working practices. Assist in the preparation/review of Method Statements, Lift Plans, Action Plans and Risk Assessments as appropriate. Regularly contribute to and hold collaborative planning sessions to ensure that programme commitments are maintained. Identify any project blockers early on and managed effectively to reduce any impact on the programme. Maintain accurate records and manage change control with the site installation works. What we will need from you Clean and wastewater mechanical installation and commissioning experience. Capable of being appointed as authorised person for isolation and permit to work purposes. The mechanical supervisor is responsible for the installation supervision and to support/assist with commissioning of mechanical equipment. The mechanical supervisor will be responsible for equipment alignment checks, pressure testing and other mechanical quality assurance issues on site. Mechanical Engineering qualification, Site supervisors’ qualification, CSCS card. Water industry experience from a main contractor background – Essential.
