Our Finance Team is seeking a Group Financial Controller. This role will be instrumental in overseeing the financial operations of the Duncan & Toplis Group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in financial reporting. This role involves managing the accounting team, preparing financial statements, coordinating audits, and implementing robust financial controls. The Group Financial Controller plays a crucial role in strategic planning, providing financial insights to support business decisions, and ensuring the long-term financial health of the Duncan & Toplis Group. Your responsibilities Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day: Manage the day-to-day operations of finance transaction processing including time and fees, purchase ledger and cash Managing and developing team members, including conducting performance reviews and the setting of clear objectives. Lead preparation of monthly and quarterly management reporting and push commercial performance. Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment to group strategic goals. Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Prepare draft financial statements and act as key contact with the auditors Understand and adhere to financial regulations and compliance including VAT and Corporation Tax Oversee cash flow management to ensure the group entities have adequate liquidity to meet its obligations Promote a culture of strong controls, customer service and continuous improvement What you need: ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Experience of financial systems Self-motivated and enthusiastic Strong analytical skills and accurate with excellent attention to detail Experienced in the preparation of monthly management accounts; year-end processes/closure; budgeting; forecasting Up to date knowledge of tax and regulations Mentoring / coaching skills Ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders Ability to work independently and as a team Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills Ability to follow set procedures and unafraid to ask others to do the same You can be based out of our Grantham, or Newark office.
