The Senior Education Manager for Leadership, Management and Talent is a vital role within the Education, Culture and Organisational Development Senior Team. We are looking to recruit a highly- innovative, creative and courageous educator, who has significant experience of developing and delivering leadership and management development programmes for large complex organisations. The post holder will provide strategic leadership for the leadership, management, talent and succession planning agenda for Cardiff and Vale UHB.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work with key stakeholders to ensure that the organisation has the leadership capability, capacity and compassionate culture necessary to deliver the objectives set out in the Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy and the People and Culture Plan, Putting People First.
1. Work with leaders, managers and staff across the organisation to operationalise leadership and management development pathways, and talent and succession planning frameworks, ensuring that the changing leadership, organisational development and engagement needs of the UHB are responded to in a timely and culturally appropriate way and in line with the UHB's values.
2. Develop and implement methodologies to assess organisational needs in terms of leadership, management development.
3. Define the design principles and deliverables for UHB leadership and management development programmes from first line manager to strategic leadership.
4. Work with the Head of Education and Assistant Director of OD, Wellbeing and Culture to develop the Leadership and Management Academy, Framework and implementation plan and roll out.
5. Design, deliver and evaluate high quality learning interventions for all levels of the organisation, including a range of delivery mechanisms such as face-to-face, e-learning, digital and blended learning.
6. Expertly deliver and facilitate learning, workshops, action learning sets, and other activities e.g. stakeholder groups in a range of settings, as required.

Job responsibilities
1. Collaborate with colleagues in across the People and Culture Directorate and the wider teams within the UHB to ensure development activity is developed and deployed effectively, integrating wherever appropriate.
2. Develop a structured approach to talent management, and succession planning that offers effective development for staff and ensure long term organisational continuity working with the Head of Education, senior team, colleagues and external organisations (e.g. HEIW) to develop the UHB talent management and succession planning framework.
3. Act as lead for the governance of the UHB coaching and mentoring networks to support leadership development and talent management, linking with local and national coaching and mentoring initiatives.
4. In conjunction with existing programmes, support the Education Manager for Coaching, Mentoring and Talent to develop coaching and mentoring offers for staff.
5. To line manage and be responsible for ensuring an effective system of performance management, including appraisal and personal development, for all direct reports and their staff, including active succession and workforce planning.

* Masters level education or equivalent level of experience.
* Recognised leadership qualification, or significant equivalent experience.
* Education/teaching/facilitation qualification or equivalent experience.
* Evidence of CPD.

* Qualified facilitator for psychometric testing e.g. MBTI, 16 PF.
* Coaching qualification.
