Do you have a passion to drive forward innovative projects and initiatives? Are you forward thinking, pro-active, organised and methodical with the ability to work in a partnership-focused environment? If yes, then we have an exciting opportunity that may interest you.
The Senior Economy Projects Officer will lead a range of projects to ensure Oxford’s business community is supported, informed and engaged, developing the city’s economy and delivering the priorities of Oxford’s Economic Strategy. As part of this, you will deliver impactful projects to improve the city economy.
A central part of the role will be to ensure the service’s main partnerships remain strong and productive. The successful post-holder will support this priority by delivering excellent project management and partnership working, with a collaborative approach. The successful post-holder will identify innovative ways to deliver improvements to the council’s engagement with business and local organisations. In-turn the post-holder will help to enhance the support offered to business with partners, enhance take-up of that support and ensure that effective lines of two-way communication are in place to understand local business needs. This is a key role to ensure excellent customer service, and support our work by enabling a fairer, more inclusive economy.
Oxford has a vision to develop as a globally recognised innovation cluster, as part of a diverse, productive, sustainable, and inclusive economy. Yet, aligned to that vision, there is also a need for more accessible employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the whole community. Initiatives such as the Oxford Living Wage, Community Employment & Procurement Planning and Business support and engagement among others, will be important long-term inclusive economy initiatives. With our partners across the city, the City Council is working to create a thriving community, supported by improved infrastructure, business premises, and the right skills to help people and businesses to succeed.
