We are looking to recruit an expert structural biologist or bioinformatician with a strong structural biology background and familiarity with scripting to join the PDBe curation team.
High-quality curation of new depositions is essential for PDB and EMDB to remain the authoritative global sources of biomacromolecular structure information. The work involves annotating preliminary PDB and EMDB submissions and extracting relevant biological information. PDBe staff annotates more than a third of all PDB and EMDB depositions worldwide. The work will also involve analysis of structure data and enriching PDBe tools and services. The data curators also participate in developing training material and delivery of workshops and in outreach activities.
You have:
* PhD and a minimum 2 years of work experience in structural biology or bioinformatics.
* Demonstrable working knowledge of macromolecular structure, and ideally a broad knowledge in molecular biology or biochemistry.
* Ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with the wwPDB OneDep and PDBe team members.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent knowledge of English, as communication with depositors is an essential part of the job.
You may also have:
* A few years of post-doctoral research experience in structural biology.
* Hands-on experience in the determination of protein structure is a distinct advantage.
