The Role
As a Driver at Majestic Wine you should provide the highest levels of customer service in order to uphold Company standards.The Driver’s priority should be to make timely and accurate deliveries of stock to customers in a company van. A Driver should recognise the importance of free delivery as part of the overall customer service proposition at Majestic. A Driver should be willing to participate in work in the warehouse whilst not making deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To work effectively as a member of the Warehouse Distribution Team, through effective and appropriate communication.
2. Preparing and packing items for despatch accurately, on time and in accordance with instructions.
3. Accurately assemble all deliveries and check them at the point of unloading them into the van
4. Organise delivery routes in a logical and economical manner
5. Deliver the correct stock to customers in a timely manner, checking all stock on delivery in the presence of the customer
6. Be polite and courteous to customers at all times
7. Demonstrate an understanding of payment procedures on delivery and follow Company policies relating to this at all times
8. Gain a signature from the customer on delivery of the stock and file paperwork neatly in the office
9. Be aware of security issues relating to van use and take adequate steps to safeguard Company property
10. Drive and park the van legally and responsibly at all times
11. Read and demonstrate an understanding of the information in the Vehicle section of the Retail Operations Manual and the Employee Handbook
12. Follow the Highway Code at all times and adherence to the company “Drivertocracy” targets (Ctrack software).
13. Regularly check tyre pressure and wear, and oil levels, ensuring these are safe and correct for the specific vehicle
14. Demonstrate an awareness of and adhere to weight restrictions with regards to the loading and carrying of stock in the store van
15. Keep the van clean and tidy inside and out
16. Ensure that fuel for the van is purchased from the company approved location
17. Report any issues relating to the van to the Line Manager
Knowledge & Skills Required:

23. You must be smart and tidy at all times
24. Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points and must be over the age of 20 yrs old
25. Proven working experience in Delivery Driver positions
26. Experience of driving long wheelbase van
27. Proven work experience as a multi-drop driver within London area
28. Effective communicator and self-motivated
29. Basic understanding of customer service practices
30. Solid communication and interpersonal skills

32. Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
