This is a great opportunity for a Software Analyst and Developer with a strong background in machine learning and/or natural language processing, who is keen to expand their wider commercial and leadership experience. An additional training and development budget of £2,000 pa is also provided.
The Company
Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau (ACCA) is a charity/non-profit organisation that is part of a national network of Citizens Advice offices that offer free, independent and confidential advice and support. They help millions of people every year with a variety of challenging situations such as debt and financial management, housing, employment and energy efficiency. ACCA has a strong focus on innovation, including AI, to create a more agile organisation and deliver long-term solutions providing "advice fit for the future".
The Project
This is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between ACCA and the University of Portsmouth, co-funded by Innovate UK. This strategically important partnership addresses the ACCA’s increasing demand for services by leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance efficiency and impact. The AI-driven platform will enhance the ACCA’s capacity to serve more people while maintaining the highest quality of advice, enabling more efficient and effective delivery of their vital public services. The project provides a distinct opportunity to make a significant positive impact on a crucially important public service benefiting many people.
The position will be based at the Arun and Chichester Citizens Advice Bureau in Bognor Regis with the possibility of hybrid working following an initial period of on-site work and subject to meeting business needs.
You will be joining a friendly team based at ACCA. You will be supported by University experts across these fields, with significant opportunities for training and professional development.
The Role
You will lead and manage the project, apply your knowledge in a practical business context, engage with ACCA’s staff and the national Citizen Advice network, and produce prototypes and scientific publications. You will also play a crucial role in disseminating project results and facilitating the embedding of new systems, processes, and expertise into the ACCA’s business.
This is a fixed term appointment for 26 months.
