Design Manager – Buildings Contract 12 Months Location: Plymouth Hybrid working mostly remote with visits to Devonport and client office IR35: Inside Our Client has a requirement for a Design Manager – Buildings, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Plymouth. Role Purpose: To manage and oversee the multidisciplinary design elements of buildings, ensuring technical performance, compliance with safety requirements, and successful integration with other design packages. Job Role Responsibilities: Manage multidisciplinary building design elements, ensuring designer technical performance and resolving technical issues. Provide technical guidance and review design packages, including safety functional requirements. Oversee integration of designs with other packages and ensure documentation meets scope, standards, schedule, and budget. Contribute to project planning and implementation, addressing key technical and operational factors. Experience Required: Proven high-level technical management of complex building projects. Experience in designing and constructing major industrial buildings (e.g., workshops, offices, storage). Beneficial: Experience in high-hazard facilities (e.g., nuclear, hospitals, X-ray facilities). Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering (minimum). Preferred: Chartered Architect or Engineer registered with a relevant body.
