The skills required and learned for this receptionist position can provide an excellent foundation for entering the veterinary profession What To Expect On Reception You’ll be working within a team of 3 where your focus is to provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets - providing a link between clients and the clinical team via in person visits, email and phone calls. Your great customer service during a client’s pet visit will make sure they feel welcome and supported. At the completion of their visit with their pet, your helpful and efficient manner will ensure they look forward to their next visit. You’ll be able to efficiently manage in person visits, take payments, answer phone queries, respond to emails and sort future bookings. Coordinating the smooth running of the day-to-day routines of the practice will be done using our electronic booking system, so computer literacy is a must. Cleaning reception as incidents occur along with general mid-day and end of day is expected for pet and team safety. Data Protection awareness is required to comply with company and government security regulations. Our Commitment to Colleague Support: We have a zero tolerance for aggressive/abusive/threatening clients. To encourage good behaviour from clients we have recorded phone lines and CCTV. This is a full time position working 40 hours a week with no on call, no weekend working or out of hours requirements. We have a dedicated lunch break mid-day so all colleagues can relax, have a cuppa and put their feet up The attributes required: You are friendly and welcoming for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice, when answering the phones and emails. You are able to provide guidance by keeping yourself fully up-to-speed with the practice services and any additional services available. You are calm, attentive and able to multitask and think on your feet. You will bring enthusiasm and drive to your role: enjoying the challenge of learning new skills, information to best serve clients and their pets. You can have coping skills and or are able to develop your personal mental health awareness so you are resilient in times of stress such as pet euthanasia, upset clients and pet emergencies. You’re reliable, have a sense of humour and enjoy working with a team of likeminded pet care colleagues.
