Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and fostering a positive environment for those we serve. The Support Worker will work closely with clients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
1. Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, household tasks & benefits.
2. Assist adults with behavioral management strategies to promote positive interactions.
3. Assist individuals with referrals to external agencies such as drugs, alcohol & mental health.
4. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
5. Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in behavior or health status.
6. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
7. Drive clients to appointments or community activities as required.
8. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and performing first aid when necessary.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in childcare, home care, or patient care is highly desirable.
2. Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond effectively in emergencies.
3. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients of all ages.
4. Experience in hospice care or senior care is an advantage.
5. Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding.
6. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
7. Certification or training in relevant areas such as nursing or behavioural management is beneficial but not mandatory.
8. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: £11.45-£12.26 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 35 per week
