We are seeking a proactive and skilled Digital Installation Engineer to join our Commercial team. You will play a pivotal role in delivering and installing cutting-edge Smart Technology and Managed Print products to clients across the country, including occasional travel to Ireland. Working typically as part of a 2-person team, you will ensure the seamless setup and maintenance of advanced digital equipment and systems.
This role offers a blend of hands-on technical work, client interaction, and opportunities to contribute to user training and content creation.
Your Responsibilities As a Digital Installation Engineer Will Be:
* Operating as a 2-person team, to transport, install, and set up Smart Technology and Managed Print products, including digital signage displays into retail and or office space, media equipment, printers, and associated metalwork enclosures/brackets.
* Provide end user training on installed hardware to the end users.
* Mount media screen bracketry/framework onto walls using provided tools.
* Respond promptly to service call-outs to replace damaged or broken screens and media equipment.
* Provide occasional workshop support by configuring Smart Technology products and printers under the guidance of the line manager.
* Follow schedules, delivery notes, and equipment return forms provided by the line manager, ensuring all documentation is scanned and submitted daily.
* Conduct on-site surveys as needed to assess installation requirements or troubleshoot existing setups.
About You:
* You will be a tech-savvy individual, with the ability to add devices to a network, with the understanding of IP, subnet, and gateways.
* Comfortable downloading and installing print drivers onto laptops/PCs.
* Basic understanding of building and uploading software onto mini PCs (training can be provided).
* Proven experience in configuring, assembling, and dismantling technology products, or working in an IT/engineering environment is advantageous.
* AV installation experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Confident in using tools such as power drills for installation tasks.
* Always follows safety procedures and performs work with care and precision.
* Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
* Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
* Thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage priorities.
* Self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of working under pressure.
* Well-organised with excellent time management skills.
* Holds a full UK driving licence and is comfortable driving vans up to 3.5t.
* Willing to work overtime (paid at time-and-a-half during weekdays, double time weekends) and evenings when required.
* Prepared to stay away from home with 3-5 days' notice when necessary.
* Resides within a 30-mile radius of our Cheltenham office and is able to commute daily for a typical 8am-9am start, dependant on the job that's allocated for that day.
* Willing to undergo Enhanced DBS (CRB) checks as part of the hiring process.
