Mary Godwin Under Fives Playgroup are looking for someone with a passion for childcare and education, who finds pleasure in assisting children’s learning and growth.
We are looking for someone with a Level 3 qualification or equivalent to join our team as Deputy Playleader. This would be for 3 days a week. Applicants must be available for an 8am start and a 3.30pm finish. The position is term time only.
We are a small playgroup on the edge of Swindon Village, taking children from 2 years up until they start school. We provide a warm and caring environment where children can feel confident to develop their learning and skills.
We are looking for a team member who is able to support us with this, a practitioner who is able to plan exciting and stimulating learning, based on the children’s interests. Experienced in delivering the eyfs and able to liaise with parents about their child’s development is a must.
The applicant should be willing to keep up with relevant training, development and be familiar with monitoring child development and next steps.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging educational activities that promote learning and development.
* Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality childcare services.
* Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their children's progress and addressing any concerns.
* Manage daily operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Drive initiatives that enhance the nursery environment, creating a welcoming atmosphere for children and families.
* Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
* Maintain accurate records of children's attendance and developmental milestones.
Experience
* Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is essential.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams or groups of children.
* A background in working with children in a nursery setting is highly desirable.
* Ability to drive initiatives that support the growth and development of children within the facility.
* A genuine passion for nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning.

Pay: £13.00-£14.00 per hour
