Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Tasks
1. Interpret welding process specifications
2. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
3. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
4. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
5. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
6. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
7. Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
8. Determine weldability of materials
9. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
10. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
11. Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
12. Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line
13. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
