An exciting opportunity has arisen at Harrogate District Foundation Trust to join the Emergency Department team as a Reception Clerk.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to provide a professional, efficient and comprehensive reception service within the department’s reception desk, fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient treatment using paper-based health records and information technology systems.
* Be familiar with, and work to, the protocols and policies of the Emergency Department and Trust policies.
* Closely liaise with other disciplines while remaining courteous to provide reliable and quality service to patients, relatives and carers, healthcare professionals, internal departments and outside organisations.
* Be aware of the Health and Safety aspects of staff and patients and to promote a safe environment to work in.
* Commit to further training as required by the role and, when competent, assist in the training of others.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The main aspects of the job involve first contact with Emergency Department patients. This involves being able to communicate effectively with the patients while recording essential information onto IT systems efficiently.
You will work closely with a large multidisciplinary team including doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals.
